Book Talk by Shaun A. Casey: Chasing the Devil at Foggy Bottom

Thursday, February 2, 3:00 – 4:00 PM – Payson Library, Surfboard Room

Join the Pepperdine community for a book talk with Shaun A. Casey, the founding director of the US Department of State's Office of Religion and Global Affairs. In Chasing the Devil at Foggy Bottom: The Future of Religion in American Diplomacy, Casey makes a compelling case for the necessity of understanding global religion, writing frankly about his work integrating sophisticated, research-driven policy into the State Department under Secretary of State John Kerry. Witty and astute, he recounts his team's challenges in DC politics as well as in the major global events of his tenure, including climate change, the rise of ISIL, and the refugee crisis.  Following the talk, Casey will sign copies of his book, which will be available for purchase.  Please RSVP for the event.
