Ask An Alum: Talent Agent and Pepperdine Alumnus Houston Costa ('12) Returns to Campus

On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 11 AM to noon at Appleby Center 280, talent agent and Pepperdine alumnus Houston Costa ('12) will discuss his long career in the entertainment industry and the formula for success regardless of the path you choose. 

Costa is an agent in UTA’s motion picture division, representing talent, filmmakers, and writers. Additionally, Costa has been making an imprint in the international market, crossing over superstars from their native territories into the US market, such as Portuguese actress, Alba Baptista, who is the lead of the hit Netflix series Warrior Nun, Cagatay Ulusoy who is the lead of the first ever original Turkish Netflix series, The Protector, Miguel Bernardeau, who leads the juggernaut Spanish series, Elite, Korean actress Jun Jong- seo who is set to star as the lead of the Korean remake of Money Heist and will next be seen as the lead of Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon which premiered at Venice, and also Korean actress, Minha Kim, who is set to star as the lead of Pachinko at Apple.

Costa’s trajectory in Hollywood has been driven by his adverse upbringing, having grown up in the rural Nevada mining community. He attended Pepperdine University on a full-ride tuition scholarship and majored in Film Studies.
