Attend Dean's Speaker Series Featuring Viet Dinh in Conversation with Trey Childress

The November Dean’s Speaker Series will feature Viet Dinh, former Chief Legal and Policy Officer of the Fox Corporation, in conversation with Pepperdine law professor Trey Childress. Dinh and Childress will discuss Why a Career in Law and What Does a Career in Law Really Mean on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 12:30 – 1:30 PM, in Classroom D. Lunch will be provided.

Dinh served as the chief legal and policy officer for the Fox Corporation from 2018 to 2023 and now serves as Special Advisor to the organization.

Dinh escaped from Vietnam after the fall of Saigon in 1975 and helped provide for his family by picking produce on agricultural fields. He eventually gained admission to Harvard Law School, where he worked tirelessly with a team of law professors, lawyers, and government officials to win the release of his sister, who had been captured and imprisoned in a refugee camp in Hong Kong.

Dinh went on to clerk for Judge Laurence Silberman of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and Justice Sandra Day O’Connor of the U.S. Supreme Court.  He was a Professor of Law at Georgetown Law for 20 years and an U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Legal Policy from 2001 to 2003.  He previously served on the Boards of Directors for 21st Century Fox, Revlon, LPL Financial, Scientific Games, and MacAndrews & Forbes Worldwide.
