Attend Larry Donnell Kimmons Memorial Lecture with Tia Brown McNair
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 1:30 – 3 PM in the Payson Library's Surfboard Room, Pepperdine Libraries is partnering with the Office for Community Belonging to present the Larry Donnell Kimmons Memorial Lecture Series. The event demonstrates Pepperdine's enduring commitment to honoring the life of Larry Donnell Kimmons and uplifting the power of remembrance to advance justice, peace building, and conciliation.
This year's presenter is Tia Brown McNair, a nationally-recognized leader on inclusive excellence, high-impact practices, equity in student outcomes, campus climate, and student success. She is currently a partner at Sova, a company that facilitates transformative change through actionable strategies and practical implementation support. In her previous role at the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) as the vice president for diversity, equity, and student success and the executive director of the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) Campus Centers, she directed numerous national projects, including developing partnerships with more than 70 institutions to establish TRHT Campus Centers. She is the co-author of several books and the editor of Strengthening Campus Communities Through the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Framework, published by Routledge (June 2024). McNair holds a PhD in higher education administration from George Washington University.
