Attend The Pa'akai We Bring and Family Arts Fest This Saturday

On Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 11 AM to 3 PM at Smothers Theatre, the Pepperdine community is invited to enjoy The Pa'akai We Bring and a full day of arts, family fun, and creativity at the Family Arts Fest. This exciting event will feature dancing with DJ Princess Ellie, tasty food and shaved ice from free food trucks, a chance to visit animals from the So Cal Mobile Zoo, hands-on art activities, and much more.

The Pa'akai We Bring highlights the deep cultural connection between Native Hawaiians and pa‘akai (salt). Pa‘akai is not just a food staple, but also a medicine, sacrament, and a symbol of generosity. The play tells the story of a multi-generational family of salt farmers on Kauai, blending ancient myths, hula dancing, live music, original songs, and interactive moments to create a joyful and participatory experience infused with aloha.
