Attend MTP Block Party Celebrating Black History Month

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 6 PM in The Light House, the Pepperdine community is invited to attend “The Rhythm of Resilience,” a high-energy Black History Month block party celebrating the powerful legacy of music created by people of African descent in America. From soul-stirring spirituals to hip-hop, R&B, and beyond, this celebration honors the sounds that have shaped culture, fueled movements, and defined generations.

Featuring live music from DJ Shawn Carter, dynamic guest performances, line dancing, and light appetizers and snacks. This event invites you to come ready to vibe, come ready to move, and bring your crew—we're turning it up times two! Whether you are there for the music, the movement, or the community, this will be an unforgettable evening of rhythm, joy, and connection.

Sponsored by the Multicultural Theatre Project, the African American Studies Program, the Humanities & Teacher Education Division, and the Office for Community Belonging. Everyone is welcome to attend.
