Holiday and Spring 2022 COVID-19 Testing Updates

Stay Safe Waves

Holiday Break Testing Site Schedule

As the University enters the Christmas break, only the Firestone Fieldhouse testing location on the Malibu campus will remain open on Monday, December 20, and Monday, December 27, from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. Those accessing the Malibu campus during the holiday closure should be prepared to schedule tests during these adjusted hours.

Additionally, those accessing graduate campuses during the break should pick up COVID-19 antigen take-home tests from December 13 through December 17, as graduate campus testing locations will be closed beginning December 20. Test results only need to be reported to the Student Health Center (310.506.4316, option 3) during office hours (Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) if the test is positive.

Spring 2022 Testing

As a precautionary measure and in compliance with current Los Angeles County guidance, Pepperdine will require all students, regardless of vaccination status, to obtain and report a negative COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours before arriving either on campus or for their first in-person interaction with the Pepperdine community at an official University event in 2022. To facilitate this, students are able to ask for take-home tests from any on-campus COVID-19 testing location from December 13 through December 17. Faculty and staff are encouraged, but not required, to obtain an entry test before returning to campus.

Pepperdine will continue to require weekly screening testing at the beginning of the spring 2022 term for all faculty, staff, and students regardless of vaccination status, as recommended by the current Los Angeles County guidance. The University continues to evaluate conditions to determine if and when changes to testing may occur.

Weekly screening testing will be available beginning on January 3, 2022. While individuals may test any day, Monday through Saturday, the University encourages early testing on the first week back to campus or within 72 hours of the first working day on campus.
