Pepperdine University’s Empower and Equip Program Receives $7.5 Million Grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.

Pepperdine University has received a $7.5 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to support its Empower and Equip program, which aims to revitalize Church of Christ congregations in rural and small-town communities across the US. Through research, leadership training, and collaboration with institutions like Abilene Christian University and the Christian Chronicle, the program will strengthen ministerial resources and enhance church vitality. It will also establish 10 regional congregational hubs and host an annual conference to foster unity and share insights. This initiative marks the largest grant Pepperdine has received from Lilly Endowment, furthering the university’s commitment to faith-based community support.
