Register for Pepperdine's Advent 2023 Service and Reception

On Friday, December 8, 2023, the Office of the Chaplain and Human Resources invite the Pepperdine community to enter the season of Advent and to reflect on the meaning of this season through scripture readings, prayer, and singing. Held in Stauffer Chapel starting at 9 AM, this year’s theme is based on Isaiah 64:1, “O that you would tear open the heavens and come down.”

Advent is a season of expectation and hope. It is when we remember the miracle of Christ's birth and acknowledge that he is still at work in the world today. 

A highlight this year will be an organ presentation of “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” by Seaver College professor of music Gary Cobb. This is a unique opportunity for many members of our community who have not heard the exquisite organ in the chapel.
