Register for Understanding Your Neighbor's Political Ideology (and Your Own)

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from noon to 1:30 PM in the Payson Library’s Surfboard Room, Pepperdine Libraries and the Center for Faith and Learning invites faculty and staff to join Seaver College associate professor of political science Jason Blakely for a conversation on understanding why ideology in the modern era can be so divisive.

Modern political life is a confusing and disorientating terrain of competing ideologies. Blakely's discussion will be informed by his latest book, Lost in Ideology: Interpreting Modern Political Life (Agenda Publishing, 2024), which offers a framework for the upcoming presidential election. Following Blakely's talk, professor of teaching of religion and CFL director John Barton will moderate a conversation, taking questions from the audience. Everyone is welcome to attend, and refreshments are provided.

The first 30 faculty and staff to register and who attend in person will receive a free copy of Lost in Ideology.
