Resources Available During Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and informed by the University's faith mission, Pepperdine cares for the wellbeing of each person in every aspect of life. Below are a variety of resources available to help faculty and staff and their family members maintain good mental health.
How to Prioritize Mental Health
- Eat healthy, well-balanced meals, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.
- Share your concerns and feelings with friends and family members. Maintain healthy relationships and build a strong support system.
- Take time to unwind and remind yourself that strong feelings will fade. Practice taking a few deep breaths, and utilize your breaks during the workday to reset and refresh.
- Seek help when needed from a member of your church, counselor, doctor, or by calling the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) at 800.273.8255.
