Sign Up for the 2024 Red Cross Blood Drive

From Tuesday, April 9 to Thursday, April 11, 2024, between 11 AM to 5 PM at the Fireside Room on the Malibu campus, Pepperdine has partnered with the Red Cross for the Red Cross Blood Drive. 

Globally, the Red Cross is facing a blood crisis as it kicks off the new year and currently experiencing the worst blood shortage in over a decade, posing a concerning risk to patient care. Since the start of the pandemic, the Red Cross has experienced around a 10 percent decline in blood donations. 

Doctors have been forced to make difficult decisions regarding who receives blood transfusions and who will need to wait until more products become available. Additionally, the Red Cross, which supplies 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply, has had to limit blood product distributions to hospitals as a result of the shortage and some hospitals are unable to receive 1 in 4 blood products they need.

Sign up to donate blood on the American Red Cross Blood Services website. Appointments are available between 11 AM to 5 PM and most donations typically take less than 15 minutes.
