Textbook Adoptions Due to Pepperdine Bookstore on October 29

The Pepperdine Bookstore asks that faculty submit their textbook adoptions to the Pepperdine Bookstore by Friday, October 29, in order to be prepared for the spring term.

Adopting Textbooks Through the Pepperdine Bookstore Benefits Students

Textbook adoption information helps students by allowing them to:

  • View an accurate list of required and recommended materials for all their courses in one place
  • Obtain materials that meet their needs (choosing to purchase or rent a textbook in a paper or digital format)
  • Save money (rented textbooks save students 50 percent of the purchase price, on average; digital textbooks save students 25 percent of the paper book's purchase price, on average; and price matching can give up to $100 back to students for a textbook)

How to Submit Textbook Adoptions

Below are a few simple ways to submit faculty textbook adoptions to the Pepperdine Bookstore:

  • Online: The online method is preferred and provides the opportunity to easily re-adopt materials. If faculty have not used this online tool previously, no historical search for textbook re-adoption is available; however, current and future adoptions will become part of faculty adoption history going forward.

  • In person: Faculty may visit the Pepperdine Bookstore (Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM), and store manager Janet Chou can collect adoption information and answer questions.
  • Email: Faculty may email your adoption information to store manager Janet Chou at 0854mgr@follett.com. Please include the following information:

    • Course abbreviation and section number
    • Title of course material
    • ISBN
    • Edition of course material, if applicable
    • Whether the Bookstore is approved to automatically substitute an available edition if the selected edition is not available
    • Whether the course material is required or recommended
    • A specific notebook, calculator, or other supply required
    • Estimated enrollment
    • If a course uses multiple titles, the order in which those books will be used
  • Phone: Faculty may call store manager Janet Chou at the Pepperdine Bookstore at 310.506.4291. This line is monitored; faculty may leave a message with adoption information. Please include phone number or email address should the Bookstore need additional details.

Students will be able to shop for their required and recommended course materials online (pepperdineshop.com) about six weeks prior to the start of class.
