Thriving Amidst Human Differences

Human Resources and the Office for Community Belonging invite you to workshop three of our educational series for faculty and staff: Thriving Amidst Human Differences.

A collaborative Pepperdine community in which everyone can experience belonging supports our institutional mission, enriches our learning experiences, and enables us to more effectively lead, educate, and serve others in a diverse and dynamic world. In this workshop we examine differences and experiences commonly found in higher education and explore their relationship to our perspectives and workplace interactions. Additionally, we will share best practices for thriving amidst human differences at Pepperdine.

This session will be led by Dr. Jaye Goosby Smith, Pepperdine's Vice President for Community Belonging and Chief Diversity Officer. Guided by God's call to unite God's people, Smith approaches her specialty areas of human diversity, inclusion, and belonging with intellectual rigor, methodological soundness, patience, a healing spirit, a love for humanity, and a good-natured sense of humor.
