Relationship IQ is a fun, rewarding, unique place to work. The training you receive will impact and bless your entire life. Relationship IQ hires students for the following academic year in the spring. We are accepting applications for 2020-2021 interns. The application deadline has been extended to April 30. For the 2020-2021 academic year we will be hiring three different types of interns:


Relationship Educator Interns

Relationship Educator Interns are Pepperdine University, Seaver students selected and trained by the Boone Center for the Family's Relationship IQ Program to effectively plan, run, and lead interactive presentations about healthy relationships, promote healthy relationships among peers, and run the Relationship IQ programming. Presentations are usually made as a team with two educators involved and conducted in places such as classes, clubs and organizations, dorms, and convocation programs.

Expectations - Relationship Educator Interns are expected to:

  • Commit between four and ten hours per week (with the occasional heavier week) with the Relationship IQ Program.
  • Participate in a 4-5 day training to be held in August the week prior to NSO (you may move in early to your on campus housing).
  • Attend the Unplugged Retreat held the weekend prior to the start of the spring semester.
  • Participate in monthly training sessions and supervision sessions, and weekly staff meetings during the school year.
  • Complete a minimum of three hours per week of needed office work for the Boone Center for the Family.
  • Develop and deliver educational presentations on relational health to Seaver students.
  • Provide healthy peer relationship advice to fellow students.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and production of the Relationship IQ Series, presentations, rIQ events, and promotional activities.
  • Participate in other activities depending on intern's skills and rIQ needs such as:
  • Drafting articles on relationship topics for use in the newsletter or website
  • Creation of video and media pieces and other content development
  • Facilitating Club Convos

rIQ Marketing and Media Interns

rIQ Marketing and Media Intern is a Pepperdine University, Seaver student selected and trained by the Boone Center for the Family's Relationship IQ Program to support rIQ's marketing, advertising, social media, website, video, and photo needs. This position will receive all the benefits of being trained in Relationship IQ with the other interns so that they are better able to communicate the rIQ message through media, online, and print formats.

Expectations - rIQ Marketing and Media Interns are expected to:

  • Commit between four and ten hours per week (with the occasional heavier week) with Relationship IQ.
  • Participate in a 4-5 day training to be held in August the week prior to NSO (you may move in early to your on campus housing).

  • Participate in monthly trainings and weekly staff meetings during the school year.

  • Assist in the development, coordination, and production of the Relationship IQ Series, presentations, rIQ events, and promotional activities.
  • Design and publicize printed advertising for each rIQ event (this task is a significant part of the job).
  • Update rIQ social media.
  • Create rIQ Google slideshows.
  • Produce an engaging video (or videos) highlighting relationship skills and the rIQ program.
  • Participate in other activities depending on the Marketing and Media Intern's interests such as content development and facilitating Club Convos.

rIQ Student Leaders - Lausanne International Program (THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR)

Relationship IQ Student Leaders are Pepperdine University students selected and trained by the Boone Center for the Family's Relationship IQ Program to effectively plan and lead interactive discussions about healthy relationships, promote healthy relationships among peers, and run the Relationship IQ programming in Lausanne.

 

Expectations - rIQ Student Leaders are expected to:

  • Lead a weekly student discussion group on relational health for Pepperdine Lausanne students based on the Relationship IQ curriculum.
  • Provide healthy peer relationship advice to fellow students.
  • Speak at one program convocation during the academic year.
  • Commit between two and three hours per week (with the occasional heavier week) with the Relationship IQ Program. This time will include session preparation, supervisory meetings, and the sessions themselves.
  • Participate in a Zoom-based training to be held April 16, 2020 from 9am-3pm (as much as your class schedule allows), April 17, 2020 from 9am-3pm.
  • Participate in coaching sessions with Dr. Kelly Haer, Relationship IQ Program Director (via video call) and Mark Barneche, Associate Director, Lausanne Program, throughout the 2020-2021 school year.
