Medical Resources
The Student Health Center (SHC) is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate
care to our diverse community of students. Our primary focus is to keep students healthy
by providing preventative care, timely treatment of disease, and making appropriate
referrals when necessary.
Operating similarly to a family physician's office, the SHC demonstrates the latest in health standards and allows students to acquire care from highly trained medical professionals right here on campus. If deemed appropriate, physicians may provide a referral to a specialist or determine if a higher level of care is required.
Student Health Center
SHC staff includes board-certified physicians, a physician assistant, a registered dietitian-nutritionist, registered nurses, medical assistants, and administrative personnel.
Available services at the SHC include a wide range of everyday health needs, including men's and women's health, care for illness and injury, immunizations, injections, labs, nutrition, respiratory problems, and dermatology.
The SHC features an in-house dispensary, providing access to common medications, and a written prescription will be provided for any medication not available at the medical office.

TimelyCare
TimelyCare is a 24/7 (non-SHC) free virtual care service for students to address common concerns that can be safely diagnosed and treated remotely. TimelyCare offers scheduled and on-demand medical visits. Its licensed clinicians are trained to treat a wide range of medical conditions. A licensed, board-certified TimelyCare clinician will review and discuss the patient's concerns, make a diagnosis, and develop a treatment plan. TimelyCare clinicians can prescribe certain medications as part of a care plan if clinically appropriate.
Students are encouraged first to seek medical care at SHC. When medical attention is required outside of business hours or if a convenient appointment is unavailable at the SHC, students should utilize TimelyCare. Since TimelyCare is an outside vendor contracted with the University, its clinicians are not part of the SHC medical team. However, as part of their agreement to the Terms of Service when students register their TimelyCare accounts, their records will be shared with licensed health care professionals at Pepperdine.
If you think you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital. Do not attempt to access emergency care through telehealth. If you have questions please contact TimelyCare's Customer Support team at 833.4.TIMELY (846359).
