Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
This month, Community Engagement and Service in the Hub for Spiritual Life is hosting Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week on Pepperdine’s Malibu campus from January 24 - 28, 10 AM - 4 PM in Joslyn Plaza and at the Caruso School of Law. Join us for a week-long event in which the Pepperdine Community will have the opportunity to gain insight into issues relating to the issues, as well as gain tools and resources to be part of the change they want to see.
Monday, January 24 - Joslyn Plaza & Caruso School of Law - Participate in an interactive activity to learn the facts about hunger and homelessness in your hometown, as well as the Los Angeles area, and gain vital knowledge about the issues facing your community.
Tuesday, January 25 - Joslyn Plaza & Caruso School of Law - Participate in an informational trivia game with a chance to win prizes and learn more about the issues of hunger and homelessness.
Wednesday through Friday, January 26 - 28 - Joslyn Plaza & Caruso School of Law - Come by the table in Joslyn Plaza and at the Caruso School of Law to help assemble care packages and encouragement cards for those experiencing homelessness in the LA area.
Advocate for community change on Thursday and Friday - participants will receive information on acts, campaigns, and policy initiatives happening in their home communities around the issues of hunger and homelessness. Participants will also gain information on different legislative issues so individuals can advocate for their concerns by contacting their representatives.
