Meet Your 2021-22 IP Ambassadors

Everyone needs a mentor––someone to ask their burning questions and to give them a reality check when things get rough. Your International Programs ambassadors are here to do just that! Feel free to email them or stop by the IP office during their office hours to hear more about their program and get your questions answered.

Emily Stephens, Lead Ambassador

About Emily: Emily Stephens is a senior at Pepperdine University majoring in Sustainability and minoring in Rhetoric and Leadership. She studied in New Zealand in the summer of 2019 and then studied in Lausanne, Switzerland her sophomore year at Pepperdine. Throughout her time at Pepperdine she has enjoyed connecting with her peers through her love for the outdoors, running, hiking, and cooking. Her time studying abroad has fostered a love for travel and caring for the Earth. She hopes to pursue a career in the field of Sustainability working to mitigate the effects climate change is having on the world.

Seaver student Jackson Werner

About Jackson: Jackson Werner is a senior organizational communications major at Seaver College. He studied in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2019, where he interned at the McCain Institute of International Leadership, and in Heidelberg in the spring of 2020 as a D.C.+ student. In addition to serving as IP's D.C. ambassador he is also a student of the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, a music director in Pepperdine's Songfest program (rush HθT!), and the vice president of the Pepperdine Pickups, an all-male a cappella group. He loved his time abroad and is excited to assist underclassmen in making one of the most impactful decisions of their lives.

Seaver student and London ambassador, Braden Sprenger

About Braden: Braden is so grateful to have spent almost a year abroad in London and to have expanded his worldview to a bunch of new countries. He was born and raised in Yorba Linda, California where he spent his childhood riding bikes, boogie boarding, and playing basketball. His life is driven by focus and dedication to being the best he can possibly be at all times, but he loves nothing more than spending time with friends and family. His favorite relaxer is driving around late at night or through the desert in his sierra.

Program: Lausanne, Switzerland

About Zach: Zach Tyler is an advertising major in his senior year. He says that studying in Switzerland with Pepperdine was the best time of his life! He enjoys hiking, going to the beach, playing basketball, and he makes it a point to watch as many sunsets as possible! Fun fact: he watched the sunrise from Point Dume for 100 straight days, from March 12th to June 19th of 2021. He has a great appreciation for the study abroad programs offered at Pepperdine, so he's thrilled to be working as an ambassador for the International Programs office and representing the Switzerland program!

Heidelberg Ambassador and Seaver College student Lauren Whittington

About Lauren: Lauren is a senior at Pepperdine studying History and Religion. Living in Heidelberg completely transformed her outlook on the world and she made the most amazing friendships. Heidelberg immediately felt like a home, not just for her body, but for her soul as well! She traveled all over Europe on our weekends and learned so much about German language, history, and culture. She fell in love with not just German food (yay schnitzel!), but with many of the other global dining options Heidelberg has, like Indian, Turkish, and Mediterranean. She is so excited to chat with you about how wonderful it is to study abroad!

About Piper: Piper Wright is a senior Screen Arts major. She studied abroad in 2019-2020 and spent the year living and studying in the beautiful city of Florence, Italy and she says it was the best year of her life. She feels so blessed to be able to represent such an amazing program. Overall, she says her time in Italy was unlike anything she ever imagined. She met her best friends, traveled around Europe, and most importantly lived in the best city she's ever been to. She feels so lucky to be able to share her experience with you and she is always here if you have any questions!

Seaver student and Buenos Aires ambassador, Mackenzie Morrison

Program: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Name: Mackenzie Morrison

About Mackenzie: Mackenzie Morrison is from Missoula, Montana and is majoring in Biology with a minor in Hispanic Studies. She studied abroad in Argentina for the 19-20 academic year. She likes to hike and her favorite trip that she took while abroad was to Santiago, Chile where she went backpacking in the Andes. She also likes to workout so in addition to being an ambassador for IP, she is also a fitness instructor for Campus Rec.
