Nutrition Basics and Myths
November 16, 2021 | 12 PM | The class, hosted by Kaiser Permanete's Dr. Hashmi, will review nutrition basics and provide insight on the importance of a balanced diet and exercise. Nutrition is instrumental in preventing, maintaining, and even reversing aspects of long-term chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and kidney disease. In addition, the class will discuss several nutrition myths, including fad diets and exercise regimens. Dr. Hashmi will also be available to field questions that Pepperdine employees may ask.

Stress can affect nearly every system of the body and everyone feels and reacts differently. UCLA Health Cardiologist, Dr. John Hollowed, will discuss the science of stress on your body, and the many ways to lower your stress, especially during the holidays.

Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine are trained to look at the whole person from their first days of medical school, which means they see each person as more than just a collection of organ systems and body parts that may become injured or diseased. Today, more than 25 percent of medical students in the United States are training to be osteopathic physicians.
