Learning and Wellness

Learning

Pepperdine University invests itself fully in the personal, professional, and spiritual development of all faculty and staff members. In that Pepperdine is a Christian university committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and Christian values, Human Resources proudly offers many opportunities for growth through the Professional Development Series.

The various training and development seminars serve to:

  • Equip faculty and staff with the necessary tools to excel in their careers
  • Provide opportunities for discussion, contemplation, and introspection
  • Build community
  • Unite and align our work to the purpose of the University mission

It is in our work that we find purpose, and through our work that we may serve and inspire others.

Wellness

Pepperdine offers the Thrive Wellness Program as an additional benefit and educational opportunity to faculty and staff. The Thrive Wellness Program believes wellness is a multidimensional concept that includes providing health education to promote the six dimensions of health. These are defined as a balance of physical, social, spiritual, psychological, occupational, and intellectual health.

Promoting wellness involves proactively assisting others in increasing their awareness of personal and community health, helping to change attitudes so changes in behavior are possible, and searching for alternatives to improve health and overall well being. A fuller measure of health and a better quality of life is within our personal grasp – the Thrive Wellness Program is dedicated to promoting a healthy family at Pepperdine.

Pepperdine offers the following programs and resources for all interested employees:
