Prepare to Go Abroad in Six Steps

You Did It!

Congratulations on your acceptance to a Pepperdine International Program! You are now part of a proud legacy that spans generations and stretches across continents. Ask any IP alum and they will tell you that your study abroad transformation doesn't start when your airplane lands - it starts NOW! The information below will help you as you begin your journey, and if you have questions, our office is here to help.

Study Abroad in Six Steps:

• Prep Your Passport (and Second Passport, if needed)

  • Complete the Travel Questionnaire.
    • Due November 12, 2021.
  • If needed, apply to renew or obtain a passport.
    • Apply for your passport by November 20, 2021.
  • Submit a copy of your valid passport to IP.
    • Due January 14, 2022.
  • If needed, apply for a second passport.
    • Apply for your second passport by January 15, 2021.
  • If required, submit a copy of your second passport to IP.
    • Due April 1, 2022.

• Secure Your Visa.

  • Find out if you need a visa for your program and/or Educational Field Trip(s). 
  • Attend your Preparation & Visa Workshop.
    • See our Calendar Page for details, and keep an eye on your email.
  • Submit a copy of your visa to IP.
    • Summer 2022: Due May 20, 2022.
    • Academic Year 2022-23, Fall 2022: Due August 12, 2022.
    • Spring 2023: Due December 16, 2022.

• Register for Classes.

  • Register for any prerequisites that you need to take before going abroad. Your registration appointment is listed on your WaveNet account.
    • Summer 2022: Register for prerequisites that you will take in Spring 2022 in January 2022.
    • Academic Year 2022-23 and Fall 2022: Register for prerequisites that you will take in Spring 2022 in November 2021.
    • Spring 2022: Register for prerequisites that you will take in Spring 2022 in November 2021, and register for prerequisites you will take in Fall 2022 in April 2022.
  • Register for the courses you will take abroad. Your registration appointment is listed on your WaveNet account.
    • Summer 2022: Register for the courses will take abroad in January 2022.
    • Academic Year 2022-23: Register for the courses will take abroad in Fall 2022 in April 2022. Register for the courses will take abroad in Spring 2023 in November 2022.
    • Fall 2022: Register for the courses will take abroad in April 2022.
    • Spring 2023: Register for the courses will take abroad in November 2022.

• Get Oriented.

• You are required to attend the mandatory Orientation Session(s) for your program and complete all required Orientation modules. Orientations for Summer 2022, Academic Year 2022-23, Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 will take place during the Spring 2022 term. Details will be emailed to you. 

• Handle Health Steps.

• Complete your Health Clearance Form and submit via Etrieve to IP.
  • Washington, D.C. Internship Summer 2022: May 13, 2022
  • Programs Departing in September 2022: July 15, 2022
  • Programs Departing in January 2023 November 18, 2022
• Learn about GeoBlue Global Health Services.
• Register for any necessary accommodations with the Office of Student Accessibility.

• Finalize Your Flight.

• • To accommodate students during this unique season, IP will not be providing group flights for fall 2022, academic year 2022-23 and spring 2023 students. Our intention is that our new policy will reduce personal costs and create more flexibility. Starting in fall 2021, students will book travel individually utilizing Pepperdine's travel partner, Corniche Travel. Students can arrange their flight with help from Corniche based on their own unique travel needs. Students can depart from their preferred location and do not need to depart via LAX. Please review our flight policy for more information.

    • Programs Departing in September 2022: Flight Form Deadline July 15, 2022
    • Programs Departing in January 2022: Flight Form Deadline November 18, 2022
