Rick Marrs Retirement Reception

Celebrate Dr. Rick Marrs' 38 years of dedicated service to Pepperdine. Throughout his tenure, he has taught Old Testament in the Religion and Philosophy Division and served in key leadership roles, including Divisional Dean, Seaver College Dean, and University Provost. Join us for a reception honoring his contributions and retirement on March 26, from 2 – 4 PM in the Surfboard Room.

Bank of America Retirement Webinars

Bank of America is hosting two informative retirement planning webinars to help you make informed decisions about your financial future. The first seminar, "Retire on Your Terms," will cover strategies to estimate retirement expenses and get on track for retirement. The second seminar, "Health Care Costs in Retirement: A Closer Look at Medicare," will explore health care costs, Medicare, and long-term care. 

2025 Wellness Week

Pepperdine exercises a holistic approach to faculty and staff wellness, acknowledging that each component of an employee's wellness, physical, social, spiritual, psychological, professional, and financial, are intertwined and impact each other. During the week of March 10-14, Human Resources will share a series of messages encouraging you to take advantage of the wellness-focused initiatives available at Pepperdine. Each day, we will highlight the existing resources, while also offering additional programming each day of the week.

2025 Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

Pepperdine is committed to fostering a safe and respectful workplace, in line with our Christian heritage and Code of Ethics. To support this, we offer sexual harassment prevention training for all employees every two years. In addition to the self-paced online module, we are excited to offer two live, two-hour sessions with Glen Kraemer, a renowned expert in employment law. Glen, a founding partner at Hirschfeld Kraemer LLP, is celebrated for his dynamic training and extensive experience, having served as a keynote speaker for the SHRM Conference. Attending one of these sessions will fulfill your biennial training requirement.

2024 Advent Service and Reception

Come together alongside colleagues in a time of hopeful anticipation as we enter the season of Advent. Human Resources and The Hub for Spiritual Life invite you to prepare your heart for the season through scripture readings, prayer, and singing. Together, we will open space in our hearts and lives to anticipate Emmanuel, God with us, and remind ourselves of the boundless love Christ offers. The service will be held in Stauffer Chapel starting at 9 AM. A reception located in the Seaver Boardroom on the Thornton Administrative Center 4th floor will follow the service.

Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration with Employee Benefits

Human Resources is excited to announce the seamless integration of Single Sign-On (SSO) with our Employee Benefits platform, available through WaveNet Employee Self-Service. This enhancement allows you to effortlessly access your Transamerica retirement savings account, as well as your Chard Snyder flexible spending and health savings accounts.

Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center Toy and Gift Card Donation Drive

Human Resources is partnering with the Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center to collect new toys and gift cards for children and teens in South Los Angeles. The Wooten Center, founded by Myrtle Faye Rumph in memory of her son Al Wooten Jr., provides educational and enrichment programs for young adults, and has existing relationships with the Pepperdine community through Seaver College’s Business Administration Division, Foster Grandparent program, and is actively working with Pepperdine students to increase the effectiveness of their marketing efforts.
