Simple Syllabus for Students

Overview

Pepperdine Syllabus (powered by Simple Syllabus) is a new way for Pepperdine professors to create and share class syllabi.


Now in Limited Pilot!

Pepperdine has launched a limited pilot of the Simple Syllabus service that we have branded Pepperdine Syllabus. For Spring 2025 and Summer 2025, volunteer faculty with PGBS programs have been invited to explore the tool using Pepperdine Canvas LMS. Not all classes will use the new tool.

Browser Requirements

The syllabus is accessible in modern web browsers such as Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox.

Access Pepperdine Syllabus

If your professor is using Pepperdine Syllabus, the process couldn't be easier.

  1. Go to your Pepperdine Canvas class site.
  2. Select Pepperdine Syllabus in the course menu.
    Find the Pepperdine Syllabus link in the tool menu of your class site.
  3. Scroll to read and review the syllabus.

Acknowledge Reading the Syllabus

You may let your instructor know that you read the syllabus.

  1. Select Pepperdine Syllabus in your course menu.
  2. Scroll down to read the full syllabus (100% read).
  3. At the bottom, locate the Acknowledge button to confirm that you read the syllabus.

Use the Table of Contents

You may jump to a specific section of the syllabus through the Table of Contents.

  1. Select Pepperdine Syllabus in your course menu.
  2. Select the Table of Contents (3 lines) icon.
    Find the Table of Contents button at the top right of the syllabus.
  3. Select a topic/heading to jump to a specific section of the syllabus.

Print or Download Your Syllabus

In addition to viewing the syllabus online, you may view or download a PDF version of the published syllabus for your records or to print it. 

  1. Select Pepperdine Syllabus in your course menu.
  2. Select Print.
  3. The PDF version of your syllabus will appear. Download or print as desired.

Follow Syllabus Changes

You may subscribe to email notices about changes to the class syllabus.

  1. Select Pepperdine Syllabus in your course menu.
  2. Select the Follow link next to the Print button.
