The Pepperdine Graziadio new student onboarding experience is designed to prepare you to succeed in your graduate program. New student onboarding is a comprehensive (and fun!), multi-week experience that includes virtual and on-campus opportunities to network, learn about student services and resources, engage in career planning, and prepare for your academic program. At Pepperdine Graziadio, the entire campus community comes together to support your new student onboarding journey, and we can’t wait to welcome you!

Each full-time program has a uniquely tailored onboarding schedule, therefore, dates and times vary by program. Select your academic program below to view your new student onboarding schedule and mark your calendar now. 

Things to Know

  • Dress attire: Comfortable, business casual attire is suggested for all events. We recommend wearing layered clothing and planning for potential outdoor seating and varied Malibu temperatures.
  • Driving directions: On-campus events will take place at the Drescher Graduate Campus in Malibu. Driving directions are located here. Upon arrival, students can park in lots S, T or V at the Drescher Graduate Campus.
  • Interactive campus map: To locate specific buildings or parking lots on campus, refer to the interactive campus map. Use the search bar at the top of the screen to type in the exact location, or click on the buildings and parking lots directly on the map.

New Student Webinar Part 1: Meet the Advising Team

The two-part new student webinar series hosted by the Full-Time Programs Office will be one of the first opportunities to meet your academic advisor. The first webinar will cover the distinct features of your academic program, including a typical class schedule and highlight particular courses you will complete while in the program. For students unable to attend the live session, a recording will be posted to this webpage after the webinar.

Pre-Arrival Module

Location: Virtual - Log in through your WaveNet Student Center To-Do List

In early July, you will receive an email from your academic advisor with instructions to access the virtual Pre-Arrival Module. This is a required, self-paced module that will take approximately 45 minutes to complete, and must be finished before the end of July. 

The Pre-Arrival Module is designed to help you prepare for your arrival on campus, learn about student resources, and understand the action steps you must take before you begin your program. 

Career Readiness Boot Camp: Four-Part Series

Part 1: Wednesday, June 28, 5 - 7 PM (PT)
Part 2: Wednesday, July 12, 5 - 7 PM (PT)
Part 3: Wednesday, July 26, 5 - 7 PM (PT)
Part 4: Wednesday, August 9, 5 - 7 PM (PT)

Location: Virtual - The boot camp sessions will be held via Zoom. A calendar invitation, Zoom link, and additional details will be emailed to you prior to June 28.

Come prepared to flex your career readiness muscles during this four-part series designed to get you pumped up to launch your career journey and get the most out of your time as an MBA student at Pepperdine Graziadio. You will partner with the Career and Professional Development team to strengthen your understanding of key networking, job search, and storytelling strategies for achieving your professional and career goals.  This boot camp will set you up for career success, help you define your unique career story and purpose, and lead you into the PGBS 560 Career Seminar course at the start of the fall semester. Strap on your boots, and let's get to work! 

New Student Webinar Part 2: Preparing for Your Academic Program

Part two of the new student webinar series occurs prior to course registration for the first term in the program. Your academic advisor will share the academic tools you will access in the context of how to utilize them upon being enrolled in the program along with outlining academic standards and requirements. New Student Orientation 

Monday, August 14, 5 - 6:30 PM (PT)

Location: Virtual - A calendar invitation and Zoom link will be emailed to you before the event.

This is a required orientation that all students must attend. 

The New Student Orientation is an opportunity to learn about career engagement and study abroad opportunities, understand the next steps to begin your program, and spend dedicated time with your faculty members, who will discuss what to expect and how to make the most of your program. 

New Student Kickoff: Lunch & Resource Fair

The New Student Kickoff will take place the week of Monday, August 21 - Friday, August 25. You will receive an email from your academic advisor with the exact date and time of your New Student Kickoff.

Location: Palm Plaza, Drescher Graduate Campus, Malibu

Welcome to the beautiful Malibu campus! Enjoy lunch with Graziadio faculty, staff, and students, and take care of your on-campus to-do list all in one place:

Please note that New Student Kickoff will take place prior to your BSCI 650 Workshop, so you can come to campus to enjoy the event before the start of your workshop at 3 PM.

BSCI 650: Personal and Leadership Development Workshop 

The BSCI 650 Workshops will take place the week of Monday, August 21 - Friday, August 25. You will receive an email from your academic advisor with the exact dates and times of your multi-day workshop.

Location: Drescher Graduate Campus, Malibu

The workshop (BSCI 650) is an academic course; attendance is required to earn a grade. Meals will be provided.

Pre-Arrival Module

Location: Virtual - Log in through your WaveNet Student Center To-Do List

In early July, you will receive an email from your advisor with instructions to access the virtual Pre-Arrival Module. This is a required, self-paced module that will take approximately 45 minutes to complete, and must be finished before the end of July. 

The Pre-Arrival Module is designed to help you prepare for your arrival on campus, learn about student resources, and understand the action steps you must take before you begin your program.
