Catalina Island with Year Two

Trip Details

Join Year Two for an all-day excursion to the beautiful Catalina Island! The trip will take place on Saturday, October 19, from 7 AM–11 PM. 

On a clear day, the island is visible from campus, a small stretch of land that interrupts the horizon. The day will begin with an hour-long ferry ride, which can be accompanied by some friendly marine mammals (if lucky)! Once on the island, participants will be able to engage in fun activities designed to experience Catalina in a new and exciting way. Outside of the designated activity time, participants will be able to spend the rest of the day exploring the harbor town of Avalon and engage in other pre-paid activities with peers.

What to Expect

  • A chartered bus to and from Ferry Harbor in Long Beach
  • A round-trip ferry ride to and from the island
  • Light breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included
  • Choice of on-island activities (based on indicated preference and availability): 
    • Deluxe Catalina History & Tile-Making Experience (2 hours)
      • The original hands-on tile making experience.
    • Catalina Aerial Adventure (2 hours)
      • Zip lines, suspension bridges, climbing structures and more! Located in the trees above Descanso Beach on Catalina Island.
    • Guided Snorkel Eco-Tour (2 hours)
      • Be engulfed by aquatic life, kelp, and schooling fish while an informative guide shows off the best Catalina has to offer in our well-established Dive Park.
    • Frog Rock Kayak Tour (2 hours 30 minutes)
      • Get a tour and a workout all in one. Enjoy nature under your own power as you paddle through the blue Pacific. Dry pants, jackets, and all sorts of gear are provided to keep you and your belongings as dry as possible. Don't want to stay dry? You don't have to. Take a break at Frog Rock and grab a quick dip in the ocean, if you choose to.
  • Additional on-island group activities will be revealed at a later time!

Registration is closed as of Tuesday, October 8 at 5 PM.
