Packing List

Recommended Items:

  • Pillow, blanket, sheets, and mattress pad
    • XL twins beds are in all residence halls (with the exception of George Page F and G blocks, which have extra-long full beds)
  • Towels
  • Toiletries
    • Soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
  • Caddy for toiletries
    • We recommend that personal items not be stored in the bathroom
  • Shower shoes/flip flops
  • Storage containers
  • Desk lamp
  • Fan
    • Rooms are not air-conditioned with the exception of Drescher W block (which is air-conditioned).
  • A personal wastebasket
    • Large trash cans are only offered in common suites of first-year houses, Seaside Hall, and Rockwell Towers.
  • Laundry basket, laundry detergent, dryer sheets
  • Clothing hangers
  • UL-approved surge protectors
  • Decorative items to personalize the room
    • Walls cannot be more than 10% covered by posters, etc.
  • Good walking shoes for Pepperdine's hilly campus
  • ID and/or Passport
  • Prescription medication
  • Coffee maker
    • Pod-style coffee makers are allowed
  • Cooking equipment, dishes, salt/pepper, cooking oil, etc (for apartment residents)
  • Renters Insurance
  • Visit Dormify for a wide selection of linens, storage containers, and other room essentials! 

Please note: Each building has two or more vacuums and buckets (with cleaning supplies) available for check-out.

 

Prohibited Items

The following items are not permitted in on-campus housing:

  • Candles, incense, string lights (battery-operated string lights are allowed), halogen lamps, and barbecues
  • Electric heaters and air-conditioning units
  • Toasters, toaster ovens, electric grills, air fryers, hot plates, and any appliance with an exposed heating element
  • Instant Pots, Crockpots, rice pots, coffee pots (Keurigs are allowed), electric kettles
    • These items are permitted in apartment-style areas with a kitchen
  • Wifi cameras (i.e., Ring Camera, etc.)
  • Any devices that are not currently UL approved, including extension cords, charging cables, or adapters
  • Pets, other than approved Emotional Support Animals or Service Animals, are prohibited from campus housing.
  • The use, storage, or charging of any personal electric transportation (E-Bikes, E-Scooters, E-Skateboards, Hoverboards, etc.) device on any university campus or in any university facility is prohibited due to fire and pedestrian safety concerns.
