Flight Information
How do flights work?
For safety and logistical reasons, all students must book their flights via IP’s travel partner, Corniche Travel, unless there is an approved exception from our office.
Students must adhere to all rules and guidelines laid out in our office Flight Policies document.
Note: Flight policies can vary depending on the type of program the student is enrolled in. There are three main program categories:
| Academic Year or Semester Only (AYSO) Programs: | Student/Family Pays for Flights |
| Summer Campus-Based Programs: | Roundtrip Flight From Your Home Paid by Pepperdine |
| Summer Faculty-Led Program: | Roundtrip Flight From Your Home Paid by Pepperdine |
Important Flight Policies
Please see below for important general flight policies that apply to all programs (taken from the above document):
- Due to safety and logistical reasons, all students must book their flights via IP’s travel partner, Corniche Travel (pepperdinetravel@corniche.com) unless there is an approved exception.
- Students are unable to utilize flight credits or flight miles when booking a flight through Corniche Travel due to the fact students are not booking directly through the airline and therefore Pepperdine / Corniche will not be able to make changes to these flights in an emergency. However, students may add frequent flyer numbers to their flights after they are booked, and may be able to use miles for upgrades or baggage fees, etc.
- Students are required to arrive at the IP campus on the first day of the program within a time frame established by International Programs. Students that wish to alter their flight dates should request this at the time of booking via the flight form.
- There are no provisions for early arrival to the program location. Students will not be able to enter the IP building before the check-in time established by International Programs staff. Late arrivals are not permitted.
- Students may request an exception to the flight booking policies if their permanent residence is within driving distance of the program facility and therefore the student does not require a flight to arrive at the program location (this can often apply to the DC campus).
