Check-Out Procedures

Residents are required to check-out 24 hours after their last final exam per the schedule below (see exceptions). Your Resident Director will provide you with detailed information regarding the Check-out Process in the coming weeks. If you have any questions regarding the check-out process, please contact your Resident Advisor and/or Resident Director.

Fees

Residents who do not check-out on time will be subject to check-out fees resulting in fines assessed to their student account.

  • Improper check-outs in student rooms include: Failure to clean, damage to the room, and trash/belongings left behind
  • Improper check-outs for common areas include: Failure to clean, damage to the areas, and trash/belongings left behind. Fees resulting from issues with the common areas will be split among all residents in the suite or apartment unless a sole member is identified as responsible.

Temporary Storage and Shipping Services

College Storage Services (CSS) is a University-approved partner of Housing and Residence Life, they provide students with various storage options, including on-campus pick-up, sending boxes home, and storing items during the summer and having them delivered to their fall semester campus housing room assignment. CSS also works with FedEx, so students can send boxes to CSS, and they will deliver them to a room assignment before students arrive on campus. College Storage Services website (opens in a new tab)

Donations

The Salvation Army donation bins are located throughout our residential community to provide residents the opportunity to donate used items. Salvation Army website (opens in a new tab)
