Before You Arrive Tech Checklist

Overview

New Pepperdine students should try these simple steps below to make their transition to Pepperdine University as smooth as possible.

Please contact your academic program or division office to confirm that your current computer, or any computer you may want to purchase, is compatible or recommended for use in your academic program.

Step 2: Update Your Computer, Browser, and Web Add-ons

The most effective defense against internet attacks is to keep your computer and its software, such as your web browsers and associated add-ons, up to date.

Step 3: Install AntiVirus Software

Antivirus software is a necessary defense against malicious programs on your computer. If you do not already have antivirus software, you can download free Antivirus software recommended by Pepperdine IT with the links below:

Step 4: Create/Update MyID profile

Maintaining an accurate MyID profile lets you reset your password yourself using a PIN sent to your mobile device or an alternate email address at any time. Update your profile by visiting myid.pepperdine.edu.
