Large Email Attachments Service was Upgraded

On Friday, October 28, 2012, Information Technology will be upgrading the Accellion system to a newer version. Accellion allows you to send large attachments up to 20 Gb through a web-based email client located at http://attachments.pepperdine.edu or through an Outlook plug-in.

How will the new version work?

The upgraded version, which operates in a similar way as the existing system, will be more secure and reliable for users. It will also allow IT to combine the copier scan attachments system, which emails a link to scanned images created by the Canon copiers and the large attachments system into one.

Click here to read how to use the secure attachments.

Will there be any downtime?

The switch to the new version required no downtime.

How to find files sent prior to October 28, 2012?

Your files sent before noon on October 28 will be archived and made available at http://oldattachments.pepperdine.edu. To access your files, log in with your NetworkID and password, and click on the "File Manager" tab to view your files.

Please Note: These archived files will be available only until Monday, November 28, 2012.

How will this affect your file recipients?

If the recipients of your file have not downloaded the attachment by Friday, October 28, you will need to resend the file using the new system.

How does this affect copier scan attachments?

The switch to the new system will not affect scans sent from a Canon copier.
